Hi, I think you're correct, the MERGE (and the UPSERT suggested elsewhere) will only perform one operation for each source row - an update or an insert. Prior to TD 13.10 i think that you have to have two operations, one an UPDATE and the other an INSERT. On TD 13.10 this requirement could be met by using the TransactionTime Temporal feature, it's exactly what that feature is built for. With that being used your application could simply contain an UPDATE statement and the DBMS will do the Update/Insert for you.
