He is right. For some reason, TD decided to keep the source text in the table header?? (I believe), so the SHOW is about the only way to do that. I believe others have given you indication on how to get them all with BTEQ - messy but doable. It's a bit like getting the column details for views - not available in the DD/DS but you can use HELP . . . etc. in a complex BTEQ process.

It would be nice if TD would address these issues as they make it more difficult for their users to effectively use the DD/DS. e.g. Why aren't the SPL definitions kept in TVM and via DBC.Tables like other objects.
