Folks, Please help me to educate my management. We are a small Teradata shop and last week we (BI and DBA teams) had an important meeting with our peers who are currently in cost cutting mode and evaluating "other" technologies as alternative to Teradata. Here is the main concern: "If a one Terabyte drive can be obtained for less than $70, why should we spend millions to expand our Warehouse". We have no clue what they are thinking but we tried out best to eliminate his/her ignorance by referring to some knowledge management articles/practices. If any one has a better way to handle these questions/situations, please reply. Thanks and appreciate your help.
