We have used this type of formatting to some extent to a great effect. The way to play around would be very similar to Mike's suggestion.

Here's a brief snippet that might get you going ..

     echo ""                     > MyReport.html
     echo "
"                      >> MyReport.html
     cat  YourActualReportFile  >>MyReport.html

     ----> Do your formatting .... here

     echo ""                  >> MyReport.html



Finally send this out via mailx or sendmail.
