Hi, Because that's the way Teradata indexing works. Teradata indexes are (by default) stored by hashing ALL the columns defined to the index. In order to find that index entry (certainly if it's a PI) the DBMS needs to have values for all of the columns in the index, so that it can create the correct hash value.
