Hi Paul, Yes, that sounds like a long time. I think it's "back to basics" time: - is the table evenly distributed across the AMPs ? - are their any indexes on this column ? - is this table perm journalled ? - how busy is the system at the time it's running ? I guess that you've changed the sql code to remove the tablename (that's fine), is the rest of the code 'real' ? No WHERE clauses removed - i.e. you're updating the entire table.
