There was a version of OBIEE that ignored the specified joins, inferring Joins based on the positions of the tables in the query section - worth checking for. Whenever possible we give the OBIEE developers all SQL to run - mainly using Macros and selects from Views - OBIEE is used purely as presentation. There are many benefits of this approach. Check that the OBIEE developers are actually applying the query predicates in the query that is sent to TD - I have seen essentially Selects * with the filtering done on the local result set. Whilst the Master Data Model approach has benefits I have seen it lead to queries with multiple extraneous Joins being sent to the db. I can't remember any specific optimisations regarding setup of OCE's and ODBC but will have a look when Iget to work tomorrow. The Teradata BI COE may have more specific info on TD OBIEE interaction. Hope this helps David Pracy
