Subj:		Wildcard lookups in a stored proc

I have created a stored proc that can look up names from a table either by exact match or by begins or contains search.

The name is pass into the stored proc through an input parameter, which is then used in the where clause of a select statement. I can not get the stored proc to work when trying to using the % wildcard for contains and begins searches within the where clause using the LIKE keyword. Has anyone run into this problem and if so how did you solve it?
