Hi

I am trying to populate a column with row numbers. The oracle syntax we used was:

     UPDATE database.table
     SET row_num = ROWNUM

I think the syntax we need for Teradata is something like:

     UPDATE database.table
     SET row_num = ROW_NUMBER()

I've tried variations on this syntax and searched web to no avail.

Any help would be gratefully received
