Hello, we did it at the beginning of this year. (Teradata explained to us that the system default character set cannot be changed, since it is set at installation time. Therefore we have to take care now every time we create a user). We first converted all of our tables to UNICODE and performed afterwards many, many statements like "MODIFY USER xxx AS DEFAULT CHARACTER SET UNICODE Since we did it first on TEST, we did not encounter problems.
