We have a table on which partition is defined as follows:

     PARTITION BY RANGE_N(PROC_DATE
        BETWEEN DATE '1999-07-01' AND DATE '2020-02-01'
        EACH INTERVAL '1' DAY )

Here interval is 1 day, that means a partition would be created for each day's data.

My questions are:

1. Will not be too many partitions create performance problem?

2. Are there not any limit on no of partition in Teradata.

3. This partition would be helpful in data load as data would be loaded for each partition, but would not range queries suffer in some way? (I am just guessing on this.)

We are using Teradata 12.
