Subj:   Re: Solaris ODBC connection issue with teradata

From:   Victor Sokovin

  Thanks for the response. We have only one client instance of Teradata and that is 12. We never installed Teradata 5. This is the fresh box where we have installed Teradata 12 ODBC drivers. Let me know how do we check there are two instances of Teradata installed on Solaris.

Shrihari, my idea of you having two instances of Teradata is just based on the comparison of two data sources you have published earlier in this thread. If the descriptions are just irrelevant comments then the idea is not relevant either.

You may still want to run a search for, say, tdata.so on the entire Solaris box to make sure there are no traces of previous client versions.

Also, provide the component versions requested by the other poster who might be working for Teradata and will be able to tell you whether they are suitable for installation on your Solaris version.

Instance 1:

     [ODBC Data Sources]
     mdowner=tdata.so

     [mdowner]
     Driver=/opt/teradata/client/odbc/drivers/tdata.so
     Description=NCR 3600 running Teradata V1R5.2
     DBCName=10.132.3.71
     DateTimeFormatSessionMode=Teradata
     SessionMode=ANSI
     Username=mdowner
     Password=mdowner
     Database=mdowner
     DefaultDatabase=mdowner
     LastUser=mdowner
     UseXViews=Yes

Instance 2:

     [ODBC Data Sources]
     mdowner=tdata.so

     [mdowner]
     Driver=/opt/teradata/client/odbc/drivers/tdata.so
     Description=NCR 5500 running Teradata 12.00.00
     DBCName=10.132.12.37
     Username=dbc
     Password=dbc
     Database=dbc
     DefaultDatabase=dbc
     LastUser=dbc

Victor
