Hi,

Below is the answer from the Teradata support for a similar question we had at our site.

In TD.12, the order of evaluation of the filter conditions is chosen by the optimizer based on selectivity of the condition. (i.e. the condition which is capable of filtering more number of rows).

If the selectivity is same for both the filter conditions, then we can not guarantee the order of evaluation of the filter condition.
