Based on the responses I have seen there appears to be some confusion out there when it comes to views.
On some other database systems views are 'compiled'. On Teradata they are dynamic - there is no compile. (The definition is simply stored in
the dictionary - after parsing and verifying that the references are valid.)
To drop a column, or make any other change, you simply use 'Replace View ...' and that new version will automatically be used the next time
someone references the view.
