Can you add a trigger that would fail an insert/update if the inserted date/date of updated row is too early? You'd have to keep updating it, which would be a hassle, though.

At any rate, wouldn't you want to control this as part of ETL by validating that any given load only contains the date(s) you expect? That way you're protecting yourself without regard to any backup strategy.
