| I have had a look at Teradata Query Scheduler and cannot see how you can schedule BTEQ jobs. It appears that you can only schedule SQL.
Does anyone know of anyway, using Teradata Tools and Utilities, that I can schedule BTEQ jobs? We currently use a tool cretaed by a staff member
who is no longer able to provide support for the tool and we are looking at replacing it. If we use plain SQL then TDQS appears to have all the
features that we require, but a lot of the current jobs are BTEQ jobs and have BTEQ control statements imbedded into the jobs. | |
My understanding is that a shop that can afford a Teradata database should be able to afford a scheduling tool as well.
It is of course possible to schedule an ad hoc job from Unix or Windows client or server but the centralized scheduling of jobs provides a
better solution. All jobs become visible, you can define dependencies between them and monitor their execution.
There is a whole industry of vendors specializing in scheduling solutions.
