When you are speaking (coding) Structured Query Language (SQL) you are speaking the mathematical language of Algebra not English or French or Spanish. You are performing SET Manipulation. The SELECT STATEMENT creates a SET. THE WHERE STATEMENT creates a SUB SET of the SELECT statement FROM the Data SOURCE (table or view) you want to use. This is not American or European English, per say. So, the SQL Language has almost nothing to do with anyone's national language. It is the Language of Mathematics and instructional logic.
