First, as has been pointed out before in this forum, you should beware of simply "converting" Oracle procedures to Teradata procedures. Oracle
procedures can often be changed to set-based SQL.
All that aside, however, error 5499 is occurring because stored procedures have a limit on the total length of the input parameters (64KB,
probably). LONG VARCHAR is probably too long.
The rest of your questions can be answered by looking up the syntax in the Stored Procedures manual.
