Hi, Does anyone know of someone within Teradata that might be able to help us with an issue that we get trying to logon using BTEQ on a Debian system. I know that Teradata do not provide software for Debian, but we have a major project that requires Debian and we are trying to get connectivity to Teradata. We keep getting the following error:- *** CLI error: MTDP: EM_GSSINITFAIL(235): call to gss_init failed. *** Return code from CLI is: 235 *** Error: Logon failed! We are currently using the following versions of software and because BTEQ is only available in 32-bit have made an assumption that we have to use 32-bit versions for all the dependency packages. Is this a correct assumption to make even we are using 64-bit Debian? This is how I am installing: export SRCDIR="/home/projects/teradata/" mkdir 090130 cd 090130 rpm2cpio ${SRCDIR}/tdicu/tdicu-01.01.02.00-1.i386.rpm . \ | cpio -idv rpm2cpio ${SRCDIR}/TeraGSS/TeraGSS_redhatlinux-i386-06.02.00.00-1.i386.rpm . \ | cpio -idv rpm2cpio ${SRCDIR}/piom/piom-02.04.00.00-1.i386.rpm . \ | cpio -idv rpm2cpio ${SRCDIR}/cliv2/cliv2-04.08.02.00-1.i386.rpm . \ | cpio -idv rpm2cpio ${SRCDIR}/bteq/bteq-08.02.04.00-1.i386.rpm . \ | cpio -idv # SYSTEM INSTALL sudo cp -R opt/teradata /opt sudo install usr/bin/bteq /usr/bin/ sudo install usr/lib/* /usr/lib32 sudo ln -s /usr/lib32/errmsg.cat /usr/lib/errmsg.cat sudo ln -s /usr/lib32/clispb.dat /usr/lib/clispb.dat $ bteq I have obtained 64-bit versions of tdicu, TeraGSS and cliv2 but not sure if I can use these or even if they will work. If I can talk with the LINUX expert in Teradata they maybe able to assist with pointing us in the right direction. Cheers, Mark Young
