The question is one of access.

Are users allowed to access the tables while being loaded? If so, using multiload for add, change, delete is the way to go.

If you are completely wiping the table, fastload to staging, and then delete/insert into empty table will be faster.

If no secondary indexes on the table, a direct fastload could be used.
