Subj:   Re: Linux ODBC setup

From:   Victor Sokovin

isql is unixODBC command line tool, which work with any ODBC connections, regardless of database.

I see. It probably never occurred to SY to protect the name. They could have made a fortune on it and may have even become as profitable again as they were in 1995. When you google on "isql" you get all kinds of goodies including an equally universal JDBC one. Sorry, Vadim, I have no idea which of these tools you mean or what kind of problem with the connection to Teradata you may be facing.

I'd say give this tool a good test. If it is any good it should come with some kind of a debugger allowing you to investigate the issue. You should at least be able to get a native Teradata error message / code and you should be able to trace the connection details. If it is not possible, just move on to the next universal tool. There does not seem to be any shortage of them if we can believe Google.

Regards,

Victor
