Subj: | | Unchecking the 'Allow Use of ODBC SQL Extensions in queries' for Microstrategy |
|
From: | | cbarrineau |
All,
In order to record some pertinent Microstrategy information in DBQL (such as ReportName, GUID, etc.) in the form of a pre-report comment (i.e.,
Databasename ??? -- Microstrategy ReportName | GUID | UserName), it appears that we need to uncheck the 'Allow Use of ODBC SQL Extensions in
queries' option for our ODBC driver on the Microstrategy server.
I searched, but couldn't find an exhaustive list of ODBC SQL Extensions. For instance, I read that I cannot compile an SPL statement without
this option, nor can I issue Alter Table commands or call functions; however, none of these things are likely to be issued by Microstrategy. Can
anyone think of an ODBC SQL Extension that Microstrategy might call which will stop working if we turn this switch off?
Many thanks in advance,
Clay Barrineau
