Subj:   CLI error 315 (SESSCRASHED)

From:   Duell, Bob

Hi,

One of our jobs failed last night with a CLI error 315 (SESSCRASHED). Can someone shed some light on what that means? The Messages manual is very sparse (not a bad thing really, as long as you understand the lingo).

I can think of two possible causes: the database was restarted or the specific session was killed by a DBA (perhaps because it was doing something inappropriate). Are there other possibilities? I would not suspect a network problem, since our UNIX box is in the same data center as the Teradata environment. We are running Teradata V2R6.1 with TTU 8.2.

On a related note, is there a view anywhere that contains system availability info, like a log of system restarts? For example, if I could tell that the system was "down" at 10:00 p.m. last night, I might be able to answer questions like this more directly.

Thanks very much,

Bob
