Hi all, I tried to install the Visual C++ compiler (free version 6, included in SDK .net 1.1) on a system where I installed Teradata Demo 6.1. I read in prior mails that I have to add certain entries in the registry, which I did: New key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\6.0\Setup] New String Value: VsCommonDir='C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003\Common7' And New key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\6.0\Setup\Microsoft Visual C++] New String Value: ProductDir='C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003\Vc7\' When I run a stored procedure or a UDF I get the Error Message (bteq and Queryman) *** Create function completed with error(s). *** Warning: 5603 Errors encountered in compiling UDF/XSP/UDM/UDT. I also tried to install Visual C++ 2005 Express with the related Microsoft Platform SDK (Visual Studio 8). In this case I get the message that no compiler is installed (although I added the registry with the entries above for VS 8 and the correct Directory entries). What did I wrong or what do I have to do in addition? Is there another recommended version I could install? Any commend is highly appreciated. Joerg
