I'd like to be able to write the result of a Show Table to a file, using Bteq. Thing is, I need to be able to make the script generic in such a way that I can pass in the table name (and database).

Dave,

I have developed a DOS based utility in past.

This utility expects one parameter Database name and would generate DDL for all the DB objects as different text files.

I have attached the files and some initial setup information. This can easily be changed to run on UNIX.

Ensure that you make the following change before you load this utility.

     SET HOME_GenDDL=C:\Vindoc\UTILITY\GenDDL

You will also need to maintain the logon.txt file (in this case I have put some dummy stuffs)

Thanks,

Vinay Bagare
