We have a simple web interface to a perl script we use to allow end users to change their passwords, or our Helpdesk to reset users passwords.

The perl script runs bteq and redirects an SQL file into it, to execute the appropriate SQL to change the passwords.

It all worked fine, however upon upgrading to v2r6.1, BTEQ 08.02.03.00, it stopped working. Bteq, instead of executing the script and returning control to the perl script, just hangs. I can see the bteq process in task manager, but it never returns (unless I terminate it). Executing the perl script interactively works fine.

Anyone able to explain this behaviour? Any suggestions on how to fix it?
