Nazy,

I don't think it will result to any restarts. It is provided to be used. If you are that doubtful, put it a bit lower than 6000.

And Changing this field don't need a restart to become effective.You just need write the DBS Control Record.

Want to know few things

1. what is the present value of MaxParseTreeSegs field in Performance fields?

2. What is the DBS version you are using? In 5.1.2 the Max limit is 3000.

The other option is simplifying your request, some one has already suggested.

If your request is soo complex then it turns out to be 3710 or 3711 error.
