One thing you can check is ulimit of the UNIX user that would be submitting the informatica job. Also check to be sure this user would have correct privileges to the pipe device where you would create it.

Also, you might check the directory where the pipe device was created in to be sure you are not running out of space to the point where pipe file could not be created.

Other than that you need to engage your System Administrator for trouble shooting. Pipe device is really OS issue.

If I remember correctly, informatica uses their own version of access module. You need to engage your informatica support to investigate first.

If you believe this to be TERADATA issue then use the native utility such as create a pipe file and use this pipe file to receive from a fastexport then use the same pipe file to read from by a fastload or mload job.

Hopefully, this will give you enough to go on.
