Hi All,

We are using a third party tool (we do not have its source code) which uses JDBC connection to connect to Teradata.

For one of the errors, while checking the log files of this tool, we found that it was trying to execute the following query;

     UPDATE DTA_RUL_TMP
     SET
     CATEGORY = 'default' ,
     DESCRIPTION = 'set Name to rahul' ,
     RULE_NAME = 'Update Name' ,
     STATUS = 'ACTIVE' ,
     RULE_ID = '4' ,
     RULE_EXPR = '

                    ' ,
     STRT_DATE_RNG = NULL ,
     END_DATE_RANGE = NULL ,
     TOUCH_DATE = '2007-04-24 12:07:41' ,
     P_RULE_EXPR_1 = 'update IN_DIMENSION T1
                      set
                          T1.Name = (''john'')'
     WHERE (RULE_ID = '4' )

And Teradata responded with following error message;

Internal error: Please do not resubmit the last request. SubCode, CrashCode: P_RULE_EXPR_1

Whereas when we tried to execute the same update query through "SQL Assitant" it ran properly;

Any suggestions on what may be the possible reasons for getting this error "Internal error: Please do not resubmit the last request. SubCode, CrashCode: P_RULE_EXPR_1"
