Thanks Victor, That pretty much the conclusion I had come to. I needed to hear someone else say it, to make sure I wasn't crazy. I agree that the more traditional approach of staging tables is probably more appropriate in general, but the overhead associated with this type of strategy, we cannot currently afford due to anticipated growth of new data, and natural growth of existing data, coupled with current budget concerning expansion of the Data Warehouse. Designing around budget\time constraints is never fun. Fortunately, all "updates" of the upserts will fully reference the primary index. Performance tests are certainly in the development plan, however some of the ETL structure is being developed now ahead of actually getting data. I was hoping to get an idea of general performance behavior for large, rapidly growing tables. Thanks for the advice, it has been most helpful! Regards, Eric
