Krishna,

To your query one i.e.: 96% skew. Perhaps you can proceed in the below manner:

1) have your second column which is unique for even distribution as your primary index. This will help reduce the skew and hence gain back space.

2) have a secondary index on ur current PI column which is used in your query joins.
