Maybe it's a problem with the ODBC Data Source (which can differ by machine). At a minimum, it sounds like the server doesn't have the "Quiet
mode" option ticked, which causes the driver to pop up a modal dialog box on the server's "desktop" when an error occurs, and thus hang
indefinitely waiting for someone to click OK.
But if you're using ADO, why use MSDASQL and ODBC? Use the TDOLEDB provider instead for better performance and better integration.
