Hi All,

Does Informatica by default use some kind of encryption mechanism while connecting to teradata.

I am getting a failed logon attempt when I try to logon thru Informatica Repository administration console. My guess is it's due to the incorrect password, which informatica in it's attempt to encrypt is manipulating before logon to Teradata.

Else it doesn't explain how I was able to do the repository creation/setup successfully in Teradata(create the required tables) through the command line option:

     pmrepagent create "inf_repository1" -u "infuser" -p "infuser" -c
     "odbc_dsn" -host "tdpid/hostname" etc...

I don't remember the exact command, but above just implies that by specifying the username/password in the command line options -u/-p above I was able to connect to Teradata and create the required tables.

So back to the question again: Does Informatica use any sort of encryption mechanish while connecting to Teradata?

Regards
