It depends on your UNIX settings

Run

     stty -a

to find the setting for

     intr

If you are using Korn shell and want it to be ctrl-c, add to your .profile

     stty intr '^C'

I also like to set the erase to backspace.

     stty erase '^H' intr '^C'

Don't forget you might also have to alter yoru emulator settings.
