There are 2 possible solutions here. 1) Grant Select (or any other right) on your parent database/user to your 'third level' user. This will allow TDAdmin to see your parent and therefore connect your user into the heirachy. (Without your parent in the heirachy there is simply no way to reach your userid.) 2) Set your own userid as the 'Root Database' on the 'Main' tab of the options screen. (Or override the default on the 'Select a Data Source' screen) This second option is probably the best as it is designed specifically for systems like yours where the DBS is segmented into separate parts that should only be viewed by members of that part. (This assumes that everything you need to administer is below you in the heirachy.) Note that with option 2 you will not see 'DBC' in the heirachy and will therefore not be able to look at the X views themselves without changing the Root Database back to 'DBC'. (In general you will not need to.) Mike Dempsey
