I am using version 7.1.0 and there is an option than allows you to submit from the history window without obliterating what you already have.
Go to Tools -> Options -> General tab. Check the 'Allow Multiple Queries' box. Now when you click on a query in the History window, SQL
Assistant will open a new tab within the Query window with your old query.
