SQL Assistant processes only SQL. The statements starting with a period are BTEQ specific statements - no other application will recognize them. SQLA only allows 2 options 1) stop after the first error 2) ignore all errors and attempt to process each statement regardless. (Controled by the 'Stop query execution if an SQL error occurs' option on the Query tab of Options) If you use SQLA with SQL Server however you will be able to execute scripts (like the one you mention) by pressing F9 or using the 'Execute Parallel' menu. In this case SQLA simply sends the entire script to SQL Server and allows its built-in script processor figure out the logic. Teradata DBS does not have a built-in script processor. Mike Dempsey
