Hi,

Even though your query might be working pefectly, but you would be interested to check actual value populated into your teradata table.

e.g

     select ('12345678901234567.90')(decimal(18,1))

returns

     12345678901234568.0

Actually, There should not be any issue with your orginal query. It could be a data quality problem. Which means you might have more that 15 significant digits when you are casting to (17,2). That's why it worked for 18,1.
