Has anyone updated the MQ Series UDF that is available on
www.teradata.com
to run with a windows MQ Client. The MPRAS client is no longer supported by IBM so there is resistance within the customer to install it. If not
if anyone has any pointers to converting either the C code or the Create Function to use the Windows client I would be keen to have them.
The function should actually run on Windows but the compiler tends to link it to the 16 bit MQ libraries, which I for one do not have. I've
tried to add 32 bit libraries but probably I am still missing some or the code requires more adaptation. Replacement for SL:mqmcs is not quite
clear, for example.
What I am able to do with the function as it is now is submitting messages from my Windows client to the MQ server (on Solaris) but the
messages are not written to the target queue (messages are present in the "active" logs so the communication between the client and the server
seems to work). Don't know why; hope to have time to do some tracing. Perhaps it is this 16- vs. 32-bit issue or just something silly like the
character set choice.
Regards,
Victor
