I must admit that I have not looked at the query but want to make one suggestion anyway (perhaps not a good idea, in general).

You seem to have a decent size spool but how many AMPs have you got? If you run out of space on just one of them you will get the error message. Usually this happens when there is a high data skew = too much data resides on a small number of AMPs.

Try a search in the Forum's archives on "skew". You should find many useful threads. It *is* a big topic in Teradata.
