Glenn/others,

Thanks and appreciate your replies.

My developers use JDBC connection to connect to Teradata and use WebMethod's web services to excite the macro and retrieve the data. And what I hear from them is that they don't have any way to iterate through the result set.

Alternatively what I did was inserted echo '.set quiet on/off' in the macro before and after the set of sqls whose output we really do not care for. However this approach resulted in the below error message:

     com.wm.pkg.art.error.DetailedSystemException: [ART.117.4002] Adapter
Runtime (Adapter Service): Unable to invoke adapter service
     MyService:getTestMacro.
[ADA.1.316] Cannot execute the SQL statement "execute TestMacro4;". "
(HY000/1005) [NCR] [Teradata JDBC Driver] : Unexpected parcel kind
     received: 144"
[NCR] [Teradata JDBC Driver] : Unexpected parcel kind received: 144

Any clues / suggestions please??

Many Thanks......
