Subj:   Re: Permanent Table in Spool Space???

From:   Wagh, Mohan Maheshwar

Dear Sujay,

'Permanent Table' in the Spool Space?

Why not? Definitely it is possible. Just with one small caveat... i.e. that spool space no longer will be termed as Spool-Space, but it will be 'Perm Space'.

One fundamental understanding in T'Data is of the SPACE Usage.

In T'Data, ALL the DISK SPACE(RAW Device) is potentially the PERM SPACE. Imagine a huge open playground with lots of green grass. This play ground is the SPACE I have available for usage and I can leverage any chunk of this space towards any kind of activity. Just one thing... Before starting the use, please mark that space/area with a Flag-Pole notifying the EXACT type of activity going on in that space, with EXACT AREA that activity shall occupy. Voila, you can start the use of that space/area in the beautiful and vast playground. If you want to use a certain area for specific activities only, just modify the Flag-Pole notifications and you can use that area for some another purpose.

In short... DeNotify that Spool-Space of yours as spool-space and modify it to Perm-Space and you can create permanent tables in it.

Thanking you,

regards,

Mohan Wagh.
