Oh yes, DBQL tables if left to grow in the DBC database would certainly fill it up! Good practice is to save them off one or more times a day into a separate database, cleaning out the DBC tables as you do. We do it once daily just after midnight.

An added benefit of doing this is that you can apply value list compression on the columns of the DBQL tables.
