Check out the UDF's on the Teradata website. I know there is one called CompToDec (and another that is DecToComp) because they were written
for us by one of the NCR consultants (I think it was Jim Calvert) that helped with our install. I later saw them on the website. We use the
CompToDec UDF in tpump to convert MQ messages that arrive in EBCDIC format. We use the DectoComp UDF to convert Teradata data back into binary-
EBCDIC format for extracts that are sent back to the mainframe.
