If Fastload did secondary index builds you would have to call it: Half-fast load. It was designed to load FAST.

Mload will do NUSI's because they are on the same AMP as the data, will not talk to another AMP - therefore, no USI. Of course, it will be slower if you choose to do this.

This goes back to understanding the basics of how Teradata works and single AMP operations.
