The error message is coming from the Teradata ARCMAIN utility, not Netvault. In this case, the table in question has a utility lock opened by another TD utility (such as FASTLOAD, MULTILOAD, etc.) and for that reason, the TD ARCMAIN utility cannot establish a utility lock for its processing.

In essence the process is doing exactly what you suggest as you desired action (i.e. skip the object in question and continue). There is really not much more to be done as the only way to avoid this condition is to proactively scan for and clear any existing TD utility locks in the database to be backed up beforehand.
