Or, you could use the OLE DB access module to multiload or fastload directly from the access database. This should be quicker and simpler. How to load a Teradata table from a Microsoft(r) Access database using the OleLoad program that is included in the Teradata OLE DB Access Module (just the interesting steps): * To start the OleLoad program, click Start / All Programs / Teradata Client / OleLoad. * In the OleLoad GUI, for "Select a source", choose the "Microsoft Jet 4.0 OLE DB Provider (Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0)" entry. * On the "Connection" tab of the "Data Link Properties" dialog box, set "Select or enter a database name" to the full pathname of the file containing your Access database (for example, C:\WINNT\Profiles\JohnDoe\My Documents\MyDatabase.mdb). * Note that when you close the "Data Link Properties" dialog box, you will see an error message saying: Error occurred while attempting to set the properties you entered. To make changes and try again, click Cancel. To accept this error and continue, click OK. Failed Properties: Persist Security Info (NOT SUPPORTED) This is normal, just click OK. * For "Select a destination", choose the "NCR Teradata ("Teradata")" entry. * Use the GUI to select the table/columns to be copied. * Click on "Launch", and then "FastLoad" or "MultiLoad". * Ensure that your load script does not utilize row sizes that are too long and does not utilize field names that are objectionable to the load utility. * Click on OK to initiate the load.
