If your concern was only automated job queuing, not simultaneous data loads as such, then Teradata might be able to do it for you quite easily. You could take a look at such ML parameters as TABLEWAIT and use them in your ML scripts. That's a fairly small modification. Just a quick quote from the ML manual: "TABLEWAIT run-time option in which hours is the number of hours that the Multiload utility continues trying to start Multiload when one of the target tables is being loaded by some other job. When the Multiload utility tries to start MultiLoad, and the Teradata Database indicates that the target table is being loaded (error 2574), the Multiload utility: - Waits for 6 minutes, by default, or for the amount of time specified by the SLEEP run-time option. - Then tries to start MultiLoad again. The Multiload utility repeats this process until it has either acquired the table or exceeded the TABLEWAIT (hours) time period." Regards, Victor
