If you are using Teradata 6.1 you can require passwords to contain Numerics, Alphas, Mixed Case, and/or Special characters.

This can be set at the system level or at the Profile (user group) level.

Refer to the Administration user guide or use Teradata Administrator 7.1 (TTU8.1) for more information.
