Certainly some object properties can be inherited depending on how one may be defining the objects in question and there are default object properties that may be set if one does not explicitly specify them at creation. Some possibilities that may come into play are session settings, user/database settings, etc. Of course all this depends on the specifics of your particular issue or scenario and we would need to know a lot more about your system setup in order to postulate how what you are concerned about may have occurred. That said however I suspect you will find information that will likely go a long way towards helping you figure this out in the Teradata RDBMS SQL Reference V4 - Data Definition Statements.
